REQUIREMENT

Enclosures shall have adequate mechanical strength and shall be so constructed as to withstand such rough handling as may be expected in normal use.


TEST METHOD

Hand-held equipment, direct plug-in equipment and desktop equipment having a mass of 5 kg or less intended for use with a cord-connected telephone handset is subjected to the drop test.

The equipment is dropped three times from positions likely to cause the most adverse effects onto a wooden floor.

Hand-held and direct plug-in equipment is dropped from a height of 1 m, while desktop equipment is dropped from a height of 750 mm.

After this test, the product shall not be damaged in any way that would cause a hazard. In particular, hazardous parts must not be accessible.
