REQUIREMENT

Markings required by the standard must be durable and legible. In considering the durability of the marking, the effect of normal use shall be taken into account.

TEST METHOD

The marking is rubbed by hand for 15 seconds with a piece of cloth soaked with water, and then for a further 15 seconds with a piece of cloth soaked in petroleum spirit.

After the test, the marking should be legible. There should be no curling and it should not be possible to remove the marking easily.
