REQUIREMENTS
If there are any safety aspects concerning the operating, installing, maintaining, transporting or storing the product, you must provide suitable instructions.
DESIGN TIPSIn order to be effective, any safety instructions must be in a language which is understood by a typical user in the
country the product is intended to be used. Many countries require instructions in one or more specific languages by law.
A good way to ensure that instructions are understandable
in the target country is to get the distributor of the product in that country to prepare, or at least review, the translation of the instructions.
Examples of Safety Instructions that you may include in the product documentation are:
- All servicing to be undertaken ONLY by qualified service personnel. There are no user serviceable parts inside the unit.
- Do NOT plug in, turn on or attempt to operate an obviously damaged unit.
- Ventilation openings must NEVER be blocked.
- Replace fuses ONLY with the same type and rating as marked on the label adjacent to the fuseholder.
- The equipment is factory set for either 100-120Vac or 220-240Vac, as marked on the equipment. Ensure that the supply voltage available at the installation site
meets the factory set voltage range marking, as provided on the equipment.
REFERENCEComplete requirements are given in IEC 60950, Clause 1.7.2
